April 10-12, 2026 // LSU Baton Rouge Campus
The LSU School of Music is pleased to present the 2026 Louisiana Bass Festival, a special event all about contribution, collaboration, inspiration and sharing our passion with all bassists, and creating educational and performance opportunities for young bassists.
Welcome to the Louisiana Bass Festival
The Louisiana Bass Festival celebrates 15 years of connecting passionate bassists worldwide through virtual and in-person formats. Since adapting to a virtual model in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival has reached over a hundred participants from eighteen countries with an audience exceeding 10,000 viewers. This transformation has allowed us to discover and nurture exceptional talent from around the globe.
Our Gratitude
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our outstanding guest artists and sponsors. Your continuous support has profoundly impacted the lives of young musicians. We are especially grateful for the extraordinary generosity of our sponsors: Interlochen's remarkable $30,000 scholarship sponsorship; the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra's invaluable subbing opportunity for aspiring musicians; Guarneri House's generous provision of a $15,000-$20,000 bass on loan for a year; the International Community of Bassists; Pirastro Strings; 050 Rosins; Lemur Music; and LSU's vital support through the Manship Guest Artists Fund, Asian Guest Artists Fund, and LSU Bass Fest Support Fund. These contributions directly nurture young talent and create life-changing opportunities.
